We're glad you're interested in visiting our church. We all know how unnerving it can be to walk into a new place full of strangers, because we were all visitors here once. It's our hope that Mt. Vernon and its people will soon become familiar to you, and this will be a comfortable place where you know you are among friends. To give you an idea of what to expect the first time you join us, we've put together some helpful information below.

How do I get to Mt. Vernon?
Mt. Vernon is located on Faith Avenue, South of Cowpen Road. Travelling south, our property is just after of the 2nd paved road on the left, which is the entrance to The Pastel Gardens Subdivision. If you are travelling from the south, after turning right off Marshall Road onto Faith Avenue, our church is located on your right, just before reaching the Anatol Rodgers High School. You can also refer to the map on our "Contact Us" page. If you need transportation, any of our drivers would be more than pleased to collect you. Send your name, directions and detailed address to transportation@mtvernonmbc.org

 Where do I park?
Once you enter our compound, you will find that there is ample parking around the building. Kindly follow the pattern of parking set by persons arriving before you.

 Are You wheelchair accessible?
Yes. There is disabled parking near to the wheelchair ramp, which is located at the left of the entrance to the sanctuary.

 How early should I arrive?
Our Sunday School classes begin promptly at 9:30 Am, and you don't want to miss one minute of these lively discussions and exciting cirriculum. You can bring the entire family as there is Sunday School for ALL ages. If you are joining us for our Divine Worship Service, 11:00AM is the time to remember. Try not to rob yourself of the beginning of the service. You do not want to miss the awesome time of Praise & Worship as we set the atmosphere for miracles and the supernatural to happen!

 What do I wear?
This is one of the most common questions people ask. We do not have a standard church dress code, but generally speaking people come in dresses and suits; however you will also see jeans, sneakers, and casual wear. We have people from all ages and a variety of backgrounds, so come as you are. We look forward to seeing YOU not what you are wearing.

What to expect when I arrive?
When you arrive, you'll be greeted at the door with a warm, welcoming smile. Our greeters/ushers are here to serve you. If you have any questions, just ask them. They'll answer your questions, direct you where you want to go, and help you in any other way they can. They'll also give you our weekly bulletin that will tell you what will happen in our worship service as well as what events are coming up in our church family along with a visitor's information card for you to complete. We use this information to acknowledge you and assist you based on what you request. No Bible, No problem, Our ushers will be happy to provide you with one. If you have any concerns or need special accomodation you may also ask them.

What can I expect during services?
We want your experience at Mt. Vernon to be one of the best hours of your week! We go all-out to create an environment for worship where people are encouraged to experience the presence of God. Our messages are Bible based, creative, and offer practical insights to relevant issues that concern everyone. The Divine Worship Service lasts anywhere from 90-120 minutes. The Sunday morning experience at Mt. Vernon is a great opportunity to meet new people, worship God through praise & worship, and hear some powerful preaching and helpful teaching from our Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Arthur Charlton, Jr. Expect to connect with God and others in a real and relevant way.

What if I still have questions?
We welcome them. Send an email to info@mtvernonmbc.org and we will be more than happy to assist you in anyway we can.
